Everyone caring for an aging parent, spouse or elderly loved one is doing the best they can.  The decisions we make might be uncomfortable.  If we think about it – really think about it – we can second guess everything we do.  However, if you are doing your best caring for your loved one you need to be confident with what you are doing.  Resist the urge to second guess – the urge to say, “I should have done this” or “I should have done that.”  Don’t should on yourself.  Celebrate the action you are taking.  You deserve it – after all, you’re a hero.

Keep up the great work!

All the best.

Casey

P.S. This episode is dedicated to my friend Brad who was the first person I heard say the phrase, “don’t should on yourself.” Those words immediately struck a chord with me because way too many people who are giving their all caring for a loved one do that all the time.  Thanks Brad!
